HENNA TATTOOS

Henna is a natural plant native to Asia and the Mediterranean. The petals of the flower are harvested, dried and ground into a fine powder. When mixed with lemon juice and essential oils such as lavender, a dark paste is formed. The paste is then applied to the skin and left to set for 2 - 12 hours. When the paste is removed, a yellow brown stain in the shape of the pattern will remain. The stain will darken to a reddish brown color over the next 48 hours.

We use only the highest quality henna products and everything is all natural.

Children who would like to receive a henna tattoo much be at least 6 years of age and have a parent’s permission, as the stain can last for up to 30 days.

Is Henna safe?

Absolutely! Henna is all natural and comes form a plant. The only thing added to our henna is lemon juice and essential oils such as lavender and chamomile. Henna has been being applied to the skin in many countries for thousands of years.

How is it applied?

Henna is applied using a plastic cone or bottle by the artist. It is a thick paste that is laid on the surface of the skin.

How long do I need to keep the paste on?

Henna past should be left on the skin undisturbed for at least 2 hours. 4 to even 12 hours is ideal, and will produce the deepest color. So, the longer the better.

Can I move with the paste on my skin?

Yes, depending on where it is applied. The paste dries shortly after application and will become hard. Your henna artist will then seal it with either spray gel or a lemon and sugar mixture. In a social setting, it is best to have your henna applied where you will not disturb the design easily(not the bottom of your feet!)

What is Black Henna?

Black Henna is henna that has an additive in it. Many people have heard horror stories of black henna burning the skin. This is henna that has had PPD or hair dye added to it. Rest assured, we do not use black henna and all of our products are all natural.

Can my child get a henna tattoo?

We do not allow children under 6 years of age to receive a henna tattoo. Their skin is very sensitive and the essential oils may irritate their skin.
